Providing swift support. Ensuring optimal functioning of customer environments.
Resolving incidents and, most importantly, preventing them. This is what Jaco Heijns and his
colleagues do in our Network Operations Center (NOC). After five years at Avit, he shares his experiences.
Jaco joined Avit after completing his vocational training in ICT management. "After finishing that,
I wanted to further develop myself on the technical side. That's why Avit appealed to me. It turned out to
be the right choice. I've been working here for five years now."
"The first year and a half, I provided first-line support, then second-line, and now I'm a coordinator in our team.
In this role, I'm less focused on technical matters and more on the operational side. When it comes to your development,
there are plenty of opportunities."
When we deliver a new solution to a customer, our service organization takes over. Jaco and his colleagues
specifically work in the field of networking. "We work from the NOC, the Network Operations Center.
Our team consists of about 25 colleagues. There are also support engineers with other specialties, such as Hybrid Cloud and Hybrid Work."
"We monitor customer environments, perform proactive management, and resolve incidents. For example,
if the customer has a large warehouse, good coverage is crucial. If we see the coverage dropping, we prioritize that.
We also immediately contact the customer to assess the exact impact."
It happens that for weeks it's relatively quiet, and then suddenly there are multiple disruptions in a day, Jaco explains.
"That's when we have to go all out. We restore the old situation as quickly as possible. If that's not possible, we apply a
temporary workaround. This way, the customer can at least continue operations."
"Additionally, we also handle change management: implementing changes in customer environments. For example,
when the customer needs new features, or when equipment needs to be updated. This way, your own knowledge keeps increasing.
The same goes when Avit develops a new product or service."
"As I started working here right after my education, I can't compare Avit to other employers," Jaco says.
"But I can tell you that I find it a very pleasant working environment. Your opinion is always welcome.
The collegiality is strong, people are willing to help you. There's plenty of room to learn from each other.
What I've learned at Avit myself? Giving well-founded advice, I think that's the most important."
"Something else I consider important to mention: a lot of trust is given at Avit. If you have a good plan, you can put it into action."
He smiles, "I think it's an approach that works, as Avit is growing tremendously."

A successful IT project demands more than just technical expertise. It's largely a human endeavor. Kenny Wauters understands this well. As an experienced Account Manager at Avit, he places a great deal of value on strong customer relationships and teamwork.
Our colleague, Laure van Nieuwkoop, enjoys seeking new challenges. That's precisely why working at Avit seemed interesting to her. As a pioneer in the field of recruitment, she ensures that more entrepreneurial and talented individuals join Avit.
