Avit completes advanced network infrastructure for the new Tergooi Medical Center in Hilversum

Vianen, 4 July 2023 – Tergooi Medical Center in Hilversum has successfully implemented a new ICT infrastructure in their new building, thanks to the close collaboration with Avit, a leading network integrator and managed service provider, and partner Buitenhuis Advies. Together, the project teams worked on the development of an advanced ICT infrastructure in the modern hospital, enabling high-quality and secure healthcare.

Secure integration and collaboration

One of the key objectives of the project was to connect all different systems, including patient monitoring systems, Wi-Fi phones, and regular computers, to the central ICT infrastructure and datacenters of the hospital. By utilizing the Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) platform, based on a Software Defined Access (SDA) architecture and including services such as asset tracking, efficient and secure data exchange between diverse systems, optimized network management, and fast and reliable connectivity were ensured.

ICT security was a top priority during the project implementation. In collaboration with Avit, the hospital ensured comprehensive security of the ICT infrastructure, protecting sensitive data and preserving privacy.

Infrastructure for healthcare integration

The infrastructure of Tergooi MC takes a significant step towards supporting better integrated care. The technology allows for secure communication in all forms, supporting both patients and medical professionals. Patients have access to their records, messages, nurse alarms, and personal entertainment and internet either at their bedside or from their patient rooms. For example, nurses can communicate directly with each other using smartphones, receive alerts from equipment and patients themselves. The network is highly scalable for a multitude of services, and the SDA architecture allows for easy reconfiguration in case of changes.
