Avit strengthens its position in the public sector with three new tenders in: Nijkerk, Súdwest-Fryslân and Utrecht

Vianen, December 4 2024 – Avit, network integrator and Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), recently won three strategic tenders in the public sector. The new contracts with the municipality of Nijkerk, the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân and the province of Utrecht are a confirmation of Avit's growing role as a reliable network partner within the government. The collaborations underline Avit's commitment to delivering future-oriented, secure and reliable network solutions that contribute to the continuity of public services.

·        Reliable, secure and scalable network for the province of Utrecht

Avit will supply the Network Infrastructure as a Service (NIaaS) to the province of Utrecht over the next five years. With a fully managed Cisco network infrastructure, the province improves the reliability, security and scalability of its network services. This assignment includes design, implementation and management of network services (WAN, LAN, WLAN) and ensures uniform connectivity and higher customer satisfaction within all workplaces and ICT equipment.

·       Network renewal of the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân

Avit replaces the outdated network components for the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, resulting in a modern and future-proof network that meets the requirements of the new cybersecurity law (NIS2). The municipality, the largest in the Netherlands in terms of surface area, has opted for a five-year framework agreement, with options for extension. Anticipating the network wishes of Súdwest-Fryslân, Avit advised the Municipality in its network choice. By applying technologies such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Software Defined Access (SDA), the security and flexibility of the network is guaranteed.

·       Relocation and modernization of the network of the municipality of Nijkerk

The municipality of Nijkerk appoints Avit to provide Network-as-a-Service (NaaS), with an initial term of four years that can be extended to ten years. With the move to the new town hall on Van 't Hoffstraat, Nijkerk will have a modern ICT network that fits within the concept of a 'smart building'. By using NaaS, the municipality benefits from optimal network capacity, flexibility and cost control, without major investments in advance. The new infrastructure supports, among other things, digital meetings, space management and visitor Wi-Fi, which makes services to residents more efficient and user-friendly.

Strategic focus on the public sector

With these three contracts, Avit strengthens its position within the public sector, a sector in which the company shows strong commitment by offering innovative solutions that guarantee safety and continuity.

“A reliable and secure network is crucial for public institutions,” says Hamid Abedini, Managing Director Netherlands at Avit. “This infrastructure supports the daily services residents rely on, from efficient town halls to robust provincial networks. We are proud to work with these government organizations on future-proof network solutions that contribute to safer and better public services.”
