AVIT AND BIS ECONOCOM IMPLEMENT VIDEO CALLING

AT CENTRAL GOVERNMENT

ICT service provider BIS Econocom of Barendrecht is completing the implementation of a home work solution at the central government. In fact, now hundred thousand employees can online video call through Cisco Webex, regardless of their location. The implementation has been effected within two weeks, so they say. BIS Econocom is a provider of audio-visual and IT total solutions. The party provides, in collaboration with partner Avit, the central government with about hundred thousand digital workplaces. Part of this is the implementation of Cisco Webex, a solution of Cisco for web and video conferencing and online meetings.

DIGITALIZATION

The (expedient) implementation of the video meeting solution is not a surprise. Late 2019, BIS Econocom already started, together with Avit, its collaboration with the central government, based on a tender won by it.

Within this framework agreement the workplaces of three ICT organizations of the central government (Tax Authorities IV, DICTU and SSC-ICT) are digitalized. This with the aim of having each official (co-)work, meet and consult remotely. Specifically, this contract concerns the implementation of video calling (a so-called video bridge) and standardization and uniformity of meeting spaces.

CORONA

“Nobody could foresee that our solutions would become indispensable on such a short term, not only to counter the spread of corona, but also to ensure that work at the central government can continue”, says Jean Pierre Overbeek, CEO of BIS Econocom. “Cisco’s having made the Webex solution available for free is a beautiful gesture that we are grateful for.”
