Our colleague, Laure van Nieuwkoop, enjoys seeking new challenges.
That's precisely why working at Avit seemed interesting to her. As a pioneer in
the field of recruitment, she ensures that more entrepreneurial and talented individuals join Avit.
"I'm not the type who necessarily takes the easiest path," Laure says with a smile. "When I found out that Avit
didn't have a recruiter on board yet, I saw that as an immediate challenge. During the job interview, we quickly clicked.
I sensed that there was room for my ideas."
When there's no established approach, where do you begin? "The first step was creating an overview: how have we been
recruiting new colleagues so far? After that, I initiated new projects. From campus recruitment to engage students, to targeted use of LinkedIn."
The approach is yielding results. At the time we spoke, Laure had been working at Avit for five months. "In that time,
we've brought in seventeen people. Among them are rare specialists too. Previously, headhunters were used for that.
Not anymore – and I have a great job. So, it's a win-win."
How does Laure describe our company? "As very personal. A lot happens through
collaboration: people prefer working together over being alone."
"I meet everyone who gets hired here, and I see it in everyone. Very driven, but also willing
to take the time to help others, to bring each other along. That's quite characteristic.
Everyone wants to make the best of it together."
Moreover, there's a lot of room for possibilities. "From my first conversation, I got the feeling
that nothing is too far-fetched here. And that turned out to be true. If you have a good plan that
fits Avit, you can quickly put it into action."
"The fact that you can do what interests you at Avit unleashes a lot of energy in people," Laure says.
"You're also encouraged to continue developing yourself. In that regard, HR plays a facilitating role.
Personally, I want to pursue a master's degree alongside my work, and that's also possible."
And she has more ambitions. "I'd like to work on team mapping to optimize team compositions.
This provides more insight into the roles and skills we need. Additionally, I see opportunities in our international
network. Sharing knowledge with colleagues in Belgium and Denmark to collectively elevate our work to a higher level."
"There are plenty of challenges," Laure concludes. "But that's exactly what I'm here for!"

Finding the best solution, together with our customers and technical specialists. Pre-sales consultant Lothar Codfried thrives on it. After a career with large corporates, he feels right at home at Avit.
What's involved in the rapid growth of an IT company? Bas Blancke knows this all too well. He worked for a major American automation company for almost 20 years. The experiences he gained there are valuable in his work at Avit. Since late 2020, he has been working with us as a Service Delivery Manager.
